What orthopedic care covers
Orthopedics focuses on the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. After an accident or work injury, our orthopedic physicians diagnose the problem and lead a non-surgical treatment plan, coordinating surgical evaluation only when it’s truly needed.
Injuries we treat
Fracture care guides
Broken bones are the core of orthopedic trauma care, and each one recovers differently. Start with our overview of fracture care after an accident, or go straight to the injury you’re dealing with: a broken ankle, a wrist fracture from catching a fall, a hip fracture, a broken collarbone, or a tibial plateau fracture at the knee.
Fractures, sprains, and joint injuries — including persistent joint pain that outlasts the original injury

Orthopedic care FAQ
Will I need surgery?
Usually not. We emphasize non-surgical care — physical therapy, pain management, and bracing/immobilization where appropriate — and refer for surgical evaluation only when necessary.
Is orthopedic care covered?
Accident-related care is billed to No-Fault and work injuries to Workers’ Comp, so eligible visits are typically $0 out of pocket.
Do I need a referral to see an orthopedic physician?
No referral is needed to be evaluated. Call (631) 560-8357 and we will schedule you, and our team confirms your No-Fault or Workers’ Comp coverage in advance so there is $0 out of pocket for covered patients.
I was already seen at the emergency room — do I still need an orthopedic visit?
Emergency departments are set up to rule out life-threatening injury and obvious fractures, then discharge. They generally do not build a treatment plan, arrange rehabilitation, or follow the injury over time. An orthopedic follow-up re-examines the injury, reviews any imaging you were given, and starts the actual recovery plan.
What happens at a first orthopedic appointment?
The physician takes the history of how the injury happened, examines the joint or limb, and orders imaging when it is indicated — on-site digital X-ray is available. You leave with a diagnosis and a written plan, usually combining physical therapy, pain management, and activity modification, with surgical evaluation coordinated only if it becomes necessary.
