Common questions about our services
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No. Under New York No-Fault you choose your own treating provider, and you do not need a referral from another doctor or from your insurer to start care. The same is true for most workers’ compensation claims, though the Workers’ Compensation Board guidelines govern what gets authorised once treatment is underway.
What will these services cost me?
If your injury is covered by New York No-Fault or Workers’ Compensation, eligible treatment is $0 out of pocket for covered patients. Whether a particular service is covered is decided by the carrier on medical necessity, not by this office. How No-Fault works with your health insurance explains where the two overlap.
How soon after an accident should I be seen?
As soon as you can. Adrenaline masks injury, and neck pain, back pain, headaches and numbness commonly surface two or three days later. Early evaluation finds what is actually wrong and creates the contemporaneous record a carrier will look for. New York No-Fault also requires written notice to the insurer within 30 days of the accident.
Do you do imaging on site, or do I go somewhere else?
Where it is indicated, imaging is done on site — see diagnostic imaging and digital X-ray. EMG and nerve testing and range of motion testing are also performed in-house. MRI is arranged when the clinical picture calls for it.
I was hurt at work, not in a car. Do these services still apply?
Yes. Workers’ compensation is a large share of the injuries we treat. The clinical care is much the same; the paperwork and authorisation process is not. No-Fault vs Workers’ Comp sets out the difference, and workers’ comp injury care covers what to expect.
Can I keep seeing my own doctor as well?
Yes. Nothing here replaces your primary care physician or any specialist you already see. We coordinate accident-related care and produce the documentation the carrier requires; your existing relationships are yours to keep.
